Online Studies give us the joy of sharing the fruits of our local groups and presentations with seekers all around the world.

 

Online Study #1: The Lady & the Dragon ...an exploration of folklore from olden days and from popular
culture of our time, first presented at the C.G.Jung Institute of Los Angeles in July, 2005.

In stories of the Lady and the Dragon, old and new, girls and women are often thought to picture the 'feminine principle'--relational or yin energy. And dragons, as Carl Jung wrote, are one of many images of the powerful forces of the unconscious. This study will explore these two energies and their varied relationships, from:

 

Thus, the lore of ladies and dragons can be read as a developmental process in the psyches of both men and women...for within, we all have the feminine energy, as well as a dragon or two or three. We can find ourselves in such tales.
Pre-requisite: A delight in soul-tending (fireproof armor unnecessary).

~ Cost: $40, payable through PayPal (This covers program production expenses and picture permission fees.)
~ Participants receive, each Friday:

• Six or more course pages (in pdf format) on their computers. These include richly illustrated text from the perspective of Jungian psychology, and suggestions for grounding course contents into daily life, via active imagination and prayer. Course can be viewed online and/or saved in a computer file and/or printed out in hard copy for permanent reference.

• Link for weekly personal consultation and reflection with course guide (Betsy) via eMail, for optional use (weekly recommended). A confidential exchange.

• Link to optional conversation group with others currently registered for this course.

• eMail reminders each Friday about the posting of a new session. Links will be repeated each week for easy access to guide and group.

 

~ Number of Participants: Limited to 12, to allow responses of guide to be reflective.
~ Credits? None. Because the Center is not an academic institution but an "oasis spot" for individual personal enrichment, we do not offer credits. However, each Online Study is designed and facilitated by a staff member with decades of experience in education, psychotherapy and spiritual direction. Any of these Online Studies can fit easily into viewers' self-designed independent study programs.
